The first day of pre-school

You might remember this and this, little bits of our vacation. The only way we could coax JubeJube to get into the car and back home was to tell her that she needed to come home to be able to start school. Well the big day is here!

Looking foward to the many stories and adventures yet to come.

Hanami pattern by StraightGrain

I was so excited when I got an email from An of StraightGrain to test her new pattern, Hanami. All of An's patterns come with so many variations, you can keep using the same pattern over and over and never get the same design.

So honored to be part of the testers tour. This is my version...

I made the dress using the tulip sleeves and the crossed back.

The instructions were so easy to follow, with a lot of how-to pictures along the way.

And the verdict: JubeJube loves her new dress! So easy to tell by the smile on her face.

So glad that JubeJube was able to stay over at my aunt's while I rushed back home 1.5 hours (or 145km) away to get this dress sewn and get back to be able to get these photos done is such a beautiful setting (my aunt's back yard in Tremblant)

Year Round Yumminess

I love harvest season. Its the time of year for outdoor farmers' markets with all those freash fruits and vegetables. Getting together with family and friends to cook and prep for the winter, to preserve the yumminess for all year round.

While shopping, not at a farmers' market but at a fabric store I saw something that caught my eye!

I couldn't resist! What could be more fun than a toddler eating corn with a corn bib!

You can find these in my Etsy Shop. Unlike fresh fruits and vegetables that I tend to go overboard and buy a whole lot, not so much with this fabric so quantities are very limited.

Sugar & Spice Knit Dress by Dress Patterns 4 Grils

What could be just as comfy as PJ's, a dress made from a knit fabric! So YAY! This is one dress that is high in comfort and style and it was designed by Dress Patterns 4 Girls. You can find this pattern and so many more in their Etsy shop.

This dress is knee length and the pattern is made for long sleeves, 3/4 length sleeves and short sleeves.

Ruffles all down the front...

Empire waist defined by a cute bow made of grosgrain ribbon.

I want to thank Miss S for being such a wonderful model on such short notice and and her mama for taking such beautiful photos!

Floral Denim Pants

I just coudn't help but post this one of Amelia in a pair of pants that I made for her. This is not a pattern test its an original creation that I had so much fun making. Amelia is so compliant, she just loves being in front of the camera!

I simply took a pair of leggings that she already had and loves, but saddly are getting a little too short for her, taced them out and added a seam allowance and some length and there you have it.

Again with the pockets! Once she found the pockets there was no way I could get her hands out of there just like this jumper

Classic Jumper by Peek-a-Boo Patterns

I love a change of season, and now were getting ready for fall. Amy from Peek-a-Boo Patterns (affiliate link) has been hard at work these past weeks creating her fall line of patterns which includes this Classic Jumper.

This jumper so easy and fun to make. The length is right to the knee, and it can be fully lined or just lined at the top. Use heavier fabric, like denim or twill, for fall, and I don't see why this same pattern couldn't be made with lighter fabrics for spring and summer.

And those pockets, Amelia just loves those pockets! The only way to get her hands out of the pockets was to give her a cookie.

Vacation!

Enjoying a little bit of park time while on vacation in Tremblant.

I did get to visit some fabric shops in the area, a couple of porjects will be posted soon.

Making Jelly

I love harvest season. Its a wonderful time to take advantage of all the fresh fruit. In my case I always tend to buy too much, I also hate waste. This morning as I was getting my coffee ready, there they were, the dreaded fruit flies. It means that its time to make jams and jelly with all those peaches, nectarines, and plums that I had in the fruit bowl on the counter.

So its not what I had planned to do with my day, but I did still get to play around with fabric.
