One Thimble Issue No.21 and Thread Faction No. 131

I've really been missing One Thimble and that's why even if my time is so limited these days I did want to take time out to sew from the newest issue. I made the drop crotch joggers #131 from Thread Faction... Liz Elliott's patterns never disappoint!

Amelia would live in joggers if I let her so the fact that I got to make her a stylish pair really was a hit with her. Again thinking of the time crunch I'm in with back to school and work I didn't do anything fancy with top stitching or using the cover stitch. I even used the fabric I had from my stash. The pattern was so quick to assembly with my serger, I just made sure I pressed my seams to give a nice crisp look.

We're nearing the cooler season here, back to school means fall so I paired the pants with a raglan tee. get this same look by using pattern #121 by Thread Faction in issue No.20 of One Thimble.

I used a light weight French terry with a 5% lycra, and it was the perfect type of fabric for this project.

The format for One Thimble has changed just a bit but still offers such fun projects. I think I'm going to make the tote bag next or maybe the dress from Jilly Atlanta?  Go check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Primrose for Three

My friend Gemia over at Phat Quarters designed this super cute, versatile and fun to sew pattern some time ago. Shame on me for only sewing it up now! I couldn't only make one so JubeJube recruited some help from her sister and her friend to show off 3 of the many more styles available in the Primrose Dolmen pattern

As it would happen, it rained on and off the whole day so we got the giant umbrella out. The girls had fun and just made it so much easier to just get through the mini shoot.

JubeJube got the plain style. No hem band or arm band or ruffles for her. Straight and simple. Take a closer look at Emy's top. You'll notice a slight high-low hem and arm bands. Such a smart look for back to school... yes I've said the dreaded words, but let's be real, it's almost that time.

And then there's Amelia's top with the hem band. I love this look on her! Plus it allows her to wear leggings because the length of the top covers her butt, heeeheee.

I could have kept on going, there are enough variations to make one for every day of the week and then some!

Enjoy what's left of your summer and go get some sewing done for your child's back to school wardrobe ... with some Phat Quarters patterns!
